The Italian Space Agency (ASI) has released this week electronically
an Announcement of Opportunity for conducting basic scientific research
and application oriented projects using data and data products from its
payload devoted to Radio Occultation for Sounding the Atmosphere (ROSA)
which will be embarked on Indian OCEANSAT_2 space mission. The launch is
planned for the next spring 2009.
Individuals or parties interested in proposing a ROSA-OCEANSAT_2
mission investigation in response to this AO are requested to connect at

Dear Colleague,



The Italian Space Agency (ASI - Agenzia Spaziale Italiana) is pleased to
announce the opportunity for the exploitation of the ROSA on OCEANSAT 2
mission products.

This Announcement of Opportunity is focusing on the demonstration of the
ROSA on OCEANSAT 2 capabilities and exploitation for science and
civilian applications.

The opportunity is open worldwide for candidates submitting proposals
covering exploitation of ROSA on OCEANSAT 2 products for:

- ROSA calibration and validation algorithm retrieval

- ROSA data assimilation in numerical models for meteorological
forecasting

- climatology

- atmospheric, ionospheric and space weather studies

- space geodesy and solid earth physics applications

- synergic use of the data form the payloads onboard OCEANSAT_2:
Ocean Color Monitoring, SCATterometer and ROSA
